How to Take Screenshots on a Mac?

1. Capture the Entire Screen

To snap a screenshot of your entire screen, follow these steps:

Press and hold the following three keys together: Shift, Command, and 3.
If you see a thumbnail in the corner of your screen, click it to edit the screenshot. Alternatively, wait for the screenshot to save directly to your desktop.

2. Capture a Portion of the Screen

For more precise captures, use this method:

Press and hold the following three keys together: Shift, Command, and 4.
Drag the crosshair to select the area of the screen you want to capture.
To move the selection, press and hold the Space bar while dragging.
To cancel taking the screenshot, press the Esc (Escape) key.
